Hello folks,

I am planning on replacing my t5 fixtures and need a little help. What do u folks suggest for me ? Not the best but a very good fixture which has more space between the bulbs.

Hi,

What size fixture do you need and what features are important to you? What size tank are you lighting, etc, etc, etc...

You asked a very open ended question :)

Very good reflectors and the space between the bulbs to be bigger than the space on Nova Extreme. I would like a 2 bulb 36" and a 2 bulb 48". I'll need it for a 55g and a 30g breeder tanks. I am looking to spend around $ 400.00 for both.

Call Catalina and tell them what you want. They gave me quotes of $120 and $140 for a 8" 2x39w T5HO fixture for a 40 breeder with decent reflectors spaced apart.

"$120 for 1 cord 1 switch
$140 for 2 cords and 2 switches"

PS: I think that they have added these fixture styles to their product line now. You can go to their website and check it out.

I forgot to mention that I read about a 3 bulb Catalina T5HO fixture. The front and back bulbs were run on one ballast, switch and power cord. The middle bulb was on a separate ballast, switch and power cord. The front and rear bulbs were the primary bulbs and the middle bulb was used as a noon burst bulb.
