Hi guys

I'd like to write a blog article on light duration. Does anyone have a good, reliable source about this subject and the effect of light duration on photosynthesis etc?
I've tried the search function on this forum and elsewhere but didn't find really good stuff.

Thanks,
Gilles

A research book is by Kirk on aquatic photosynthesis. There are many research articles on response to photoperiod in aquatic plants.

As far as aquariums, this is quite another matter, it's horticulture, not natural sunlight systems.

So research is lacking.

@dutchy: the article by EasyLife is indeed pretty good (although not that elaborated). I've also read Kasselmann's book but in my opinion it is lacking on practical advice regarding aquarium keeping. In my opinion she emphasizes too much the high light/long lighting duration of aquatic plants without thinking of the practical side ...
@Tom: thanks. I guess I'll have to base my article on forum posts and internet articles then. I think Tropica has written something about light duration too.

Tropica will have better horticultural back ground and support. Many assume that nature = best when it comes to things............but there's not one farmer that will put faith into that belief I know.
