The dimension of the tank are 48"Wx24"Hx18"D. Will be using pressurized CO2 and ADA aquasoil. I understand that light penetration may be an issue at 24"...and that HC Cuba is on the substrate. I would be prefer to go with an LED lighting solution. Would a single Finnex Ray 2 or Fluval planted 3.0 be enough? Or would I have to have 2 of these fixtures to make it work?

Actually the 2 is just for spread of light. Those lights will be borderline for growing a lush carpet but as far as commercial fixtures go, they are the economical choice.

You could look into buying 2x sbreef 16” (if you have a brace) or a single 32” if there is no brace in center. These type of lights come with 3watt LEDs and can provide enough light to be high light setup.

Rajkm,

Do you have much experience with sbreef lights? Been reading on forums and watching youtube videos and I am noticing some concerns with longevity of these lights.

It’s relatively new, I have had mine for 2 years now.

They have been in salt water area for longer. Freshwater was started only 2 1/2 years ago

Thanks for the recommendation. I will mostly llikely go with them. On another note I called fluval to ask about the par rating on the Fluval Plant 3.0 LED Light 48". After a lengthy hold Karen from fluval told me that:

Depth.........PAR
3".................545
6".................270
12"...............113
18"...............71
Hope this helps anyone else looking at these lights
