Hi,
I started my first aquarium in the late 80's as a youngster and kept that tank for nearly 30 years (on and off). 5 years ago I decided to start a saltwater reef tank. This moved me from a novice to developing a true appreciation for the hobby. I was able to dig in, research and develop skills in the hobby beyond a novice. Last year we finally got pregnant, I got a new job and we purchased a new house (unexpectedly). Understanding the new job and infant would change the time I can dedicate to the hobby, during the move I decided to change the 150g tank to freshwater. The move itself took time and the 100 year old house needed some work (The local hardware store says I bought a hobby not a home). Luckily getting time back to set up and cycle the tank just before the addition of our daughter. Let's just say I am glad I found this forum as it has already taught me a great deal. Thinking I could slowly add plants, oops. This little lady has also been a bit more time consuming that I imagined. Still in need of the time to get a CO2 system. I put the lights on a high setting, let's just say I have quickly developed some algae on the glass. I turned the lights down until I get the CO2 up and running. Reading a bit here thinking the addition of CO2 with high lights may be more than I can handle. Might need to find the balance of CO2 with moderate lighting.
