I'm going to be doing a little informal experiment playing with spectrum in the following months; GE9325K, 6700/10000K and pure 6700K over the same tank and I'll watch what happens, maybe take some pictures of clippings taken from the tank under various light. I think the results paired along side yours, essabee, may help to give us a bit better of a look at the subject.

Hi Dan,
Did you do this experiment and could you tell us the results?

Not yet, my funds have been sapped out starting a couple of new tanks. I've seen the comparison and results between the 6700/10000K and pure 6700K; it's different, but not enough to make things matter much. The pure 6700K is nicer IMO, covers imperfections a little better. I still need to get the GE9325K. Thankfully yet another tank is going up with CF fixtures (80 gal, got the whole works at a good price otherwise I'd have gotten other fixtures) and a GE9325K or two may be in order depending on how Mrs. Philo likes the bulb, or is willing to trade between other tanks/fixtures.

I was kind of interested because I hear a lot of good things about the GE 9325K. At the moment I'm using a 10000/3000 combo which cover both the blue and red end of the spectrum. Anyway I'm always thinking if some other combination could be nicer. So if you ever take some pics to compare, I'd like to see them.

Thanks,
Dutchy
