I know you've heard this, but damn, this is a nasty hurricane.

175mph+ winds and looking at that eye development and all the water vapor that is coming in from the outer bands from outside the storms center from the south, there is still going to be a lot of energy being added to this storm meaning it's very unlikely the storm is going to peeter out before tearing LA a new one.

Cat 5 hurricanes are rare and this one is going to hit tonight and tomorrow. I hope you folks in that area are well prepared.
There is a predicted 25-30ft storm surge + 20-30ft waves near the eye.
