Apple Scab, Canker, Gummy Stem Blight, Black Rot...

Hi,

While it would be nice (polite?) to introduce yourself and tell us the relationship that Noni (http://www.agroforestry.net/tti/Morinda-noni.pdf) has to your aquatic plant hobby, though Noni does like water: Vegetative filter perhaps?

In my family we refer to “pycnidia plant pathogenic fungus” as "apple scab” it is a wide ranging fungal pathogen with the “pycnidia” (A flask-shaped asexual structure containing conidia, found in certain fungi, http://www.thefreedictionary.com/pycnidia ) structure. :)

Most of the information (I have anyway) relates to corn, wheat and apples.

Perhaps if you were a little less demanding and a bit more conversational we could be of assistance.

I assure you that to fulfill your demand for “all” information would take several lifetimes.

Anyway here is the easy to find stuff that seems to me most directly apply:
http://www.mycosphere.org/pdfs/MC1_4_No7.pdf & http://www.tari.gov.tw/cpps/pdf/09-3/9-3-3.pdf & http://www.sciencedirect.com/scienc...938d15209034534c0966421f881b356e&searchtype=a & http://www.sciencedirect.com/scienc...7edcfc1f1b211ada48e92bd8a62d1df5&searchtype=a

Here is some other possibly interesting information.

Being an Evil Plant Monster Isn't As Glamorous As Folks Think

May I ask you a question?..what do you do for a living?...your occupation?..

Hi,

Yes, yes indeed you may ask me a question! :) That appears to be two or three questions.:p

More or less retired, finishing a series of prolonged legal battles that without trying to be boastful I prevailed magnificently and made a bit of legal history… They* accused me of all sorts of nefarious activities  in the course of my pursuit of happiness and the American dream.

As it turned out, Nutrient Type is the most serious charge that stuck (to which I happily pleaded guilty as charged, ‘tis a fair cop!). So Tom Barr accomplished what so many, with so many resources, could not... Made an allegation that stuck and didn't get him, well, er, disBarred.

All of this and my business interests are I suspect irrelevant to the point of your question. :) So if you wish to ask the obvious question, go ahead... I may start a thread... In a bit...:D This is a recurring question...

*Many of them are now doing serious time and/or dealing with their own litigation.

Bio,

You are my hero of the day...

While I was still figuring out:

a - which phrase to google so I could understand the original question
b - how this was related to THIS specific web forum for aquatic plants
c - why the poster:
1) did not use a resource called a 'library'. Very antiquated I know, but they even have a REFERENCE section for just these sort of inquiries. They even have folks to help with this type of research. Amazing I know......
2) try the new-fangled 'Internet' like you apparently did :)

you came back with more info so quicky as if you have been waiting all week for just this question.

Brownomes,

I apologize for my snarkiness, but with all due respect, your request is a bit demanding.

Not sure still how your request is related to aquatic plants and their care and maintenance.

Noni With Canker Is No Laughing Matter... Nor Aquatic... But, Hey...

Hi Gerry,

I knew generally what Brownomes was talking about and assumed if he were in "the business" he would know something about apple scab (or canker or black rot). :gw

I considered not answering due mainly to the tone, then I figured no real harm and he just might be a little desperate.

  • Seeing ones Noni developing black rot could send anyone into a tizzy. I mean I do not know what I would do were my Noni suddenly at risk. :(

Then I figured maybe Brownome is a 37-year-old graduate student heading to the UK.

  • Then I wondered is the UK really going to grant a Visa to someone who’s Noni, has canker.
  • As a considerate evil plant monster that I am, I decided to try to help.

So, I highlighted “pycnidia plant pathogenic” and right-clicked to Google, that confirmed what I thought. :D

Then I highlighted and Googled “pycnidia plant pathogenic fungus” Then added “infection” to the search term. Finally I “+” and added “morinda citrifolia plant” to the search term. :)

I open stuff in tabs, then a quick review, picked out links, but since I still do not know Brownome’s needs I had to keep it general. The lack of feedback from Brownome causes me to wonder if there really was a problem with Brownome’s Noni.

For those that wonder, rarely do I answer anything, regardless how well I know (or think I know) the subject without at least a basic fact check…

As a bit of an additional answer to ubr0ke’s question of how I earn my living, by knowing stuff.

YO! Brownome

Hi,

If I didn't know better I would say Brownome really doesn't care about his poor Noni...:(

One might even think he doesn't even have any Noni and is just trying to sell some noxious cleanser.:p
