So... it's been a few weeks now, and the upshot of whatever it is I'm doing is that have an algae free tank and have done since I started with the dosing. I pruned the heavy stuff and crappy leaves, and added three SAE's which definitely do a lot of good...

All I have now is the brown 'staining' on a few leaves... :D

Add me to the success page too. I slacked off on dosing, getting a bit lazy and only dosing once a week. All the Ludwigia Repens started dying, thread algae appeared and the Bacopa and Rotalla came in real stunted and almost quit growing althogether. I cleaned it up real well and started dosing the big 3 on 3 days and traces on the other 3 days. All thread algae gone in two weeks. Bacopa tops have hearty new leaves. Rotalla tops have grown back to their full potential. Red Ludwigia (the Repens was all gone) has come back in full force with nice full leaves.

I think I've got it figured out now and I'm ready to move on to some more types of plants and trying my hand at some aquascaping.

Thanks, Tom and Greg,
steve
