Finally figured out what was uprooting my blyxa's.

We tend to look for growth issues.

I had one of these still in my tank. I really thought i had removed them when i redid the tank a few months ago.
No wonder my CRS shrimp kept on dying...

From now on, i tend to look to crawfish issues...

The bastard was about 4cm long, brown and off course hard to see on my ADA AS....

I'll bet he made a nice meal along with fava beans and a nice chianti (joking of course!)

Where did they come from? Had you put them in there or were they hitchhikers?

Crayfish are like bulldozers in an aquarium. They can and will dig it up in no time flat. LOL!!!

I used to have them in my tank, but i thought i had removed them when i redid my tank 3 months ago. They must have been juveniles when i restarted my tank. Seems like they survived and grew a bit :)

I bought a crayfish one morning about 10 years ago and I took it back the next day. It completely uprooted my whole 20 gallon aquarium. I've never had such an industrious critter. Some loaches are almost the same. I won't ever get either again.

Yours looks so much like the substrate. I'm sure that it could easily be overlooked and hard to find. Do you think that you got all of them now?
