Hi,
I was wondering how people do full rescapes including changing out their substrate when they have large numbers of shrimp. How do you remove all of your shrimp prior to doing this? I have heard of putting food in a net and removing them that way. I have about a hundred RCS of all ages in my tank. I wanted to do a full rescape in the next few months and was looking for advice. Thanks.

I suppose if your substrate is fine enough you could just siphon everything out through a strainer to separate out the shrimp.

I'd catch all the good sized ones that you like, and write off the rest.

They are like roaches, you'll have a few hundred more in a few weeks/months.

Have you tried baiting them with food in a trap/container? Would think this would draw them in..

(Just saw this was an old post.. How did you end up catching them?:p)
