Hello,

I just received a pot of Glossostigma elatinoides and immediately planted them. However, every now and then, some pieces would float to the surface. Are there any tricks on how to keep them in place? Also, could you also tell me any special requirements of this plant?

Appreciate all your help.

Put a little bit of substrate on top. That should keep hem from floating. No special requirements, just good light and CO2.

ok. thanks a lot duchy. i will do that.

it is more than a month now since i planted this in my tank but the growth is very sloooow. the new growth though is staying low, so i would assume that light is not a problem. perhaps co2 or nutrients?

Glosso is a fast grower, after it is established it should grow well. According to Liebig's law the rate of growth is determined by the nutrient that is the least present.

So you have to find out which one that is. Micros and macros is easy to rule out. What is left is light and CO2.
