I planted some HC in a 4gal tank , emersed, i have used soil mixed with some gravel, misting the leaves few times a day etc.
I want to speed up the growth as much as i can but i don't want to risk killing the little HC i have because of too much light, it's hard to get here in Croatia.

Could i use a 125W high press mercury over the tank?

Like most stems it doesn't need much light at all emersed. This is only from sunlight in a window ~4ft away. No fertilization, just the Aquasoil and a tank I've not filled up CO2 for.

Normally it's pressed against the glass facing the window (I moved it to over that rock for the pic), but still. Sorry for the cell picture, just easiest.

Thanx Wet!
I know it doesnt need realy strong light emersed, i'm just wondering if i can go too far with the light?
Will co2 be the issue when emersed with strong light or maybe N ?
The tank is covered with plexi and an inch is left uncovered to provide some air flow.
I spray it few times a day with some NPK dillution...

Maybe i should seperate some HC in a glass and try with the strong light to see :)

Cool little experiment set-up! They look good on that furniture, too.

I've no experience with those lights but that's a lot of running cost to light emergent nanos. I'd be concerned with heat. Is it already growing the HC?
