Hi,

I'm doing some research for an article on the growth (?) of the planted aquarium hobby in the United States. I want to know what hobbyists think based on their experience over the last eight years.

So, please take the poll. What do you think? Has the planted aquarium hobby grown over the last eight years?

Thanks,

Art

Hey Art!

I think it has. Just depends on where you live if most people are willing to participate or not. That is the problem here in Miami anyway. Lot of planties here but too few are willing to get a club together.

Thanks, Jerry. I sent you an email about the Florida club. We need to change that.

Hi Art,

I have to say by almost any measure, simply in total sales $ spent on the hobby :)

I know I spend more $ on fish now than before :)

I believe there are those interested in planted aquaria in my neck of the woods, but you cannot tell it from goodies offered in chain stores, fish stores.
Would love to see the rimless tanks,CO2 equipment, supplies, Lighting option's ,Lily pipes, fertilizer's,substrates (especially these), that those from across the pond seem to have more readily available.
Seems I must order everything which leads me to believe that if there was more demand,, ? It would be so.
Perhaps I just live in the wrong area of N.W. Missouri.
I see people buying plant's which often are not true aquatic plant's and when they die,,i suspect the folks just lose interest.
Ignorance about care needed also perhaps plays a role.
