Hello Everyone,
My name is Mike Workman. I have been a member of this forum for about 3 years, but not active. I decided it was time to participate.
I have 4 planted tanks, and a 240 under construction. The 240 is a replacement for a 360 which was 36" deep and a beast to maintain. The other tanks include two 70's, a 50, and a 35 gallon tank.
A couple examples of my tanks:
I am an Electrical Engineer, and currently an Executive at Oracle.
I have other hobbies including making wine, beer, and soap.
I love building stuff, and my tanks are taken care of (to first order anyway) by Arduino based controllers. The controllers change the water on a schedule, keep the tanks topped off, control lighting brightness, color, and schedule, allow maintenance actions like drain, fill, and lighting override. Supervisory function includes leak detection, overfill detection, temperature maintenance, and drain/fill flow on a daily, weekly, monthly, and running total basis. I will post more on a separate thread as I am sure people will have ideas for how to improve the machines.
I look forward to interacting with you, and helping people if I can with my limited aquascaping skills. Learning is one of my passions, and I have a lot to learn so I think this forum should keep me busy.
