New to planted tanks. Currently I have three tanks: 1) a ~1 gal Ikea vase I just set up. 2) a 35gal tall home to a rescue mud turtle, BN pleco, 3 Ottos, Rosie Reds and their offspring, Java moss, wild moss, Java ferns, Anubias (barteri and b. var "petite"), and diverse algae. 3) an old scratched up 20 gal tall low tech learner/experimental tank which has been set up for 105 days (image). Once I feel like I know a thing or two and have time I plan to try a scape with a 30 gal long I have kicking around.

Here's photos of my 35 turtle/minnow tank and three day old windowsill vase with native plants: Eleocharis (aciculata?), Ludwigia sp. ?, and Sagittaria cuneata (floating- leaved Sag). It also has a few baby faucet snails (Fossaria sp. or Galba sp.).

I have had big problems with a felt-like green fuzz algae for months! I'm glad it's not too apparent in the photos, but you can see Excel scorch marks in the moss from my attempts to beat it back. I think I have narrowed down the cause to low K and/or Fe levels (in turn caused by newbie-ism + hard water) and correcting that is paying off so far.
