HC turning brown

My HC is turning brown and isn't spreading

nitrate: 10-50ppm
watts: 3.4 wpg
tank size: 10 gallon
other plants: Eleocharis parvula
fertz: pfertz P,N,M,K,Flourish Exell
co2: diy yeast bottle, Japanese diffuser, drop checker color: yellow



please help and thanx...

My HC is turning a yellow/brown color and then it is dying, but it keeps on growing up without spreading (still turning yellow at the bottom). Oh, yeah, it is growing on a rock, the PH is 6.4, and the KH is 3-4(goes up and down).

I had that problem, how tall are your HC stalks? The solution for me was to be a bit more habitual about pruning the HC. Keeping it shorter so light reaches the bottom parts of the plant seemed to help. I try and keep mine about 2-2.5 inches tall. You can always replant the floating pieces in your substrate. As long as they are given time to root they should do well.
