Hanging ATI sunpower from EMT pipe/electrical conduit

I'm getting ready to hang my ATI light from the electrical conduit I made to attach to the stand. The supplied mounting kit comes with a barrel that can be secured to the ceiling with screw and another piece that screws into that which in turn attaches to the fixture.

I wasn't able to get a screw through the conduit pipe to mount the barrel onto the overhead bar. Of course I didn't have anything like a sheet metal screw on hand. Would that go through the metal conduit and hold secure without a nut on the other side of it? Any suggestions on how to hang this? How have other people hung lights from a similar setup? I wasn't too keen on just tying it to the bar as it would look sloppy and may not be sturdy.

any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi,

Pics of the conduit and the mounting hardware????

I drilled a hole (2) in my light bar and used an eye hook bolt, nut, and washers. I then hung the cable on the hook portion...

I would NOT use a screw. Nut and bolt it if possible..

I was thinking a screw would not work. I could drill a hole through the conduit pipe screw a bolt through and put a nut on the other side. I could then place the mounting barrel with the bolt.

I was also thinking of getting some type of metal cable clamp and just looping the wire over the top then clamping it together.

this thread has pictures of the mounting gear. I found it while doing a search on how others have done this.

I ended up drilling and bolting the mounting barrel into the conduit. It works great. Now i'm just eagerly waiting for all the plants I ordered in.

Its going to be tough not to fill it with soil and play around with the hardscape for the next week, but I don't want the aquasoil to dry out and get a little dusty.

I looped mine using some ferrels from HD. This allows me to move the fixture back and forth from the front and back of the tank.
