Would like to get rid of crud on my tank top glass (under the light). Any suggestions as to what to use without harming plants/fish? Thx in advance. :gw :D

Re: Glass Cleaner

Most glass cleaner works fine, just make sure to wait till it's dry and clean it good is all. Obviously, don't spray any overspray into the water.

Re: Glass Cleaner

Python makes a good glass/acrylic cleaner that claims to be fish-safe.

Doesn't leave streaks or anything on the front of the tank. highly recommends it.

Re: Glass Cleaner

What kind of gunk are you talking about??? iF it is just regular dirt and grime, window cleaner will work well. To be on the safe side, remove the glass lids from the tank so as not to get any cleaner into the tank.

If it is the white crusty build-up on the glass, muriatic acid works very well. We recently did this on an old glass top for a tank we Aquascaped at a club meeting. Worked like a charm! I would wear gloves and use it outside. Muriatic Acid has some nasty fumes!
