My local water supply is on the hard side of the scale (KH 7-8, GH 12-13, TDS 300-350) and I am now using RODI water for a 60x45x45cm tank (net volume ~100L) to grow soft water plants like Syngonanthus sp. I am dosing EI and doing weekly 50% water changes.

Now, can someone help with a GH booster recipe to bump the GH of my RODI water from 0 to 3 degrees? I have MgCl2, MgSO4, CaCl2 and K2SO4 (not for GH boosting, but it seems to be a common additive in most boosters) on hand to make the GH booster.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Cheers
Craig

Blend with the tap water.

A KH of 3 would be about 60% RO water, and then the GH would be about 5.

Saves time, $ and then you can add warm tap to the RO blend.

My tap water is even harder than yours. Like Tom recommend, I add about 20% tap to my RO water. Works great and no chemicals to mix up.
