getting ride off snails

iv just started a planted tank havent introduced any fish yet, but put about £50 worth off plants in there,just notice iv got snail in there, killed about 30 off them when i see them,but there starting to eat everything ,anyone have any home made receipt to get rid off them,or what's the best way.......

Very few of the snail species that we run into in an aquarium will eat any significant amount of plants. Generally they eat only the algae on the leafs. Since you don't have any fish, they aren't getting fed fish food either, so they will probably not expand their numbers, and just removing those you find will work best. If your tank is big enough you can put in a couple or three loaches, like Yoyo loaches, which I have, and the snails will very quickly be gone - cooked in garlic and served with butter (by the Yoyo's)

I find Clown Loaches work best for me in the past. They should be in a small school if you have a large tank>
