This too shall pass.
Seems this happens often with new driftwood. I'm guessing it is fairly new driftwood -- give it about a month, tops. My cottony fungus went away on its own. My nerite snails may have chomped on it some, but I'm sure at least some of it just went away. It did not hurt my fish at all.
