The eleocharis belem in the pic was grown immersed (submersed) with EI, Injected CO2, and glutaraldehyde.
That said, I am all out for this batch.
Donated these portions to my local club.

Okay, given the fact that my belem is running out of space to grow (hence stacking up upon itself), I am offering precut portions.

The precut dimensions I am targeting for are (2x2" square minimum). If fewer people want the grass, and I have extra I will add more.

Warnings:
I have not found eleocharis belem without other contaminant species. I have rid my belem of every species of plant except riccia. I hate riccia. The good new is, riccia floats, so when you tear into your sod to create plugs, inspect and rinse the plug in a bucket of water. Go through each plug, and you will have a riccia/contaminant species-free piece of underwater grown eleocharis belem. You will also get some tiny ramshorn snails and limpets (came with the sod when I first planted it).

That said, there is relatively little riccia mixed in with the belem, so no worries. Just clean the plant prior to planting and watch for riccia as the plant grows in your tank. If you see some, simply use tweezers to pull it out. I have two tanks where I have done this, and they are totally contaminant species-free. My mini-M and my emersed 45F.

Please post in this thread if you are interested in a 2x2" portion. Your order will ship (provided you have paid by the Sunday 5-15-2011 cutoff) on Monday early afternoon.

Cost:

You will get a minimum (I'm generous) of a 2x2" portion of eleocharis belem for $20 plus $5.20 shipping. If you want tracking, kindly add $.70 more.
This will ship via USPS Priority (flat rate box small). Depending on the quantity of people who want some, you may get more.

The minimum number of portions for me to harvest will be 5. Otherwise, it's just not worth the work (it gets really messy, plus I have to top off with new aquasoil and replant!)

Like I said, let me know via this thread, and I will add you to the list. Then I will contact you for your shipping info and send my paypal address.

I'm shipping within the USA, only. (sorry, it's just easier for me).

If you need a larger portion, PM me with "belem" in the subject line.

feel free to ask questions,e tc.

Great to hear! thanks Matt. I'm excited to see it. Unfortunately I will be gone for a week due to a funeral, so I am relying on my fiance' to take care of the grass.

Do you think floating the mat in a tank for about a week would be ok? Or would you suggest planting in a greenhouse type setup. i was thinking about these plastic applebees to go boxes I saved to store plants in that could work with some potting soil. It would stay moist and humid with some light.

What do you think?

applebees to go box with a think layer of water just touching the bottom of the roots would be fine (has residual aquasoil on the roots for nutrients~ I didn't wash the roots before packaging~this will cause it to cloud your water if you float it). Bigest deal would be to provide enough co2/light. The best way to do that would be to grow it emersed till you can get it planted.

Is it best to plant as is or to cut into smaller pieces and plant? Or does it really not make a difference?

Thanks

I usually just pinch off (or cut portions) with the root attached and plant via plugs (like HC or regular hairgrass). The more dense the grid, the less time it takes to carpet.

You can plop if down it you are going to grow it emersed, but either way works for this method.
