Uses 5/8" hose. Originally I intended to use it in-line, but with the Aqua Medic Reactor 1000, there just wasn't enough room under my tank for everything. It was used for my quarantine tank, which I operated rarely. I subsequently gave my quarantine tank to a local kid who shows interest in the hobby. Lots of hours left on the bulb. Comes in its box.
