Which is a better option for improving the overall health of my tank? Also which would provide the best flow rates, i have $35 to spend since this is the cost of a fluval 305 which a guy is offering to sell to me.

What do you guys think? More filtration? More flow?

More filtration IMO.

Flow can also be changed by the use of Loc line and repositioning things in the scape..

You can't add filtration the same way........Plus, a filter will also produce flow, no?

I just bought a AquaClear powerhead 802 to support water circulation around. The powerhead output is up to 1200l/h and it seems very strong circulation. I place it near to the top of surface, it does make the surface clearer, however CO2 injection needs to increase (very high) to deal with the lost.

I have tried to put it lower, near middle of the tank (120cm x 40 x 50), the scum/film presents on the surface.

I thought about to add a new power filter instead of a powerhead, but i opted to buy powerhead cos it is a lot cheaper. For now i have it trialled. The another thing i don't like to have powerhead in the tank is it looks not nice.

Let me know what you think.
