Filter Media - what's the recommended media?

Hi

I using a Eheim Classic Canister 2215 with my planted setup, with ceramic media with activated carbon and EHEIM filter pads.

But my last visit to my local shop, advised me to remove activated carbon, and replace it with Bio-Glass, which I have done.

The water is much clearer, but was/is this a wise move?

most won't use carbon except as an occasional media. the absorbtion and unpredictable leaching of same sometimes causes unexpected issues. i won't use it unless i need to get rid of something like a toxin that got sprayed near the tank.
