Alright experts, signed up here thinking you guys can help me out.

So the water sprite and Hygrophila corymbosa 'Siamensis' I have are both know as fast growers but their colour are not the ideal green.

Hygrophila corymbosa 'Siamensis' : Fast growth, lower leafs remain a good colour green. Top leafs continue to grow yet are yellow/pale with some leafs having dark green veins.

Lack of Manganese or Iron?

Water Sprite (Ceratopteris thalictroides) : Fast growth, new stems spring up from the bottom. The stems are strong and busy with a pale colouring, in about 2 weeks no matter what, they turn into a darken brown colour and new shoots with roots appear. How do I stop the brown rust?

Cryptocoryne spiralis : Slow growth, good colour but has a form of crypt melt. It's been moved so I was expecting this, it's also recovering with new leafs. The brown is the "spider-web" type of algae formed at the base.

Stats:
12 gallon Low to Medium light
Seachem | Excel, Iron daily with Flourish 2x a week. Recommended levels.
Flourite Red substrate.
Nitrate = 5ppm to 10 ppm

4 Harlequin Rasbora, 6 White Fin Tetras, 10 Cherry, 1 Amano.

Pic: None of the originals water sprite stems are left, I have prune them all. All new growth for the water sprite.

This is when it was first started: I have prune the corymbosa as it reached the pass the filter intake. This old pic shows how short it was when I got it. I didn't get a chance to take a new pic of the height but it was very tall with new leafs growing, the colour was also pale.

Exactly what are the specs of your lamps? It comes to mind that maybe the color temperature is playing you a trick...

Regarding the "brown" I have no idea.

Looks like Mg, not Mn.

Are you adding any MgSO4?

No, but I can add some MgSO4. Can I just use Epsom Salt for it? If so, how much should I add in for a 12 gallon?

Does anyone know what the dusty spider web material is? It is usually captured by my water sprite along with being a real problem on the bottom of my Cryptocoryne spiralis.

I forgot to mention that I am using Seachem Purgien, not that I think it makes a difference. Nitrate level has never gone pass 5 - 10 ppm, I been told this could be a problem.
I have been also told to dose less and have the plant accumulate to the low Co2 and Nutrients.

Flourish x2 per week
Iron daily
Excel daily

10 - 15 % water change twice a week: Total 20 - 30 % a week.

Is that what you were told
I know i toldyou this , in response to what you told me :)
Off the top of my head with no intimate knowledge( is that the right word LOL) of your tank, i would think from the info you provided you need to start doing a better fertilization approach which includes Macro ferts - Nitrate- Phosphates -Potassium
I would suggest using seachem line since it`s only a 12 gallon & follow their dosing chart which can be found on their site, you can also do the dry ferts with Estimative index But use 1/2 of what the dosing guide says for the 10-20 tanks, can always increase as time go by, but i think that should suffice.
Hope that helps.
BTW which ever you choose start with 2 x a week for a few weeks, so the plants have time to adjust & start up taking @ it`s full potential

I think Charlie has a better idea of the issue and the background there.

Good advice, take that 1st, then if you still have issues after a few weeks, then ask again. etc.
