What is the best way to grow star moss and Tricho emersed? What do I put it in and use to keep it alive?

As far as I understand it, star moss doesn't do well long-term when immersed. It can survive flooding for a few months, but will slowly die off.

I took it out of a year round stream at 4,000'. This is really growing in COLD stream water now. In the stream it was covered about 4" in the part of the day. Not sure if I have Tricho I need to take a pic of it. Got it in the same stream.

Just to clarify that the OP says emersed which is different to immersed ;)

It will do fine either way but not submersed (completely under the water all the time)
