So, I got this plant grown emersed from a local sfbaaps member, and planted it in my 60H. For about 1.5-2 months it was growing beautifully, slow but super healthy.

then, it just started to melt. No changes in dosing method, no changes in lighting. 1 day I had a temp malfuction and the tank went up to 85 (normally at 76) but just 1 day of this couldn't kill it all right?

I run full co2, with EI dosing. My HC also melted too... but these were grown on rock wool and never had access to the aquasoil...

All I'm left with is 3-4 tiny sprigs which I'm trying to grow back in an emmersed set up.

Any clue on what the heck happened?

Hey man been watching your tank grow. Sorry to hear about the melting. Could it be not enough CO2? Maybe your plants have grown so much they are uptaking a lot more than before. Otherwise a day of heat, hard to say if that could cause such a dramatic change. Good Luck!

Yes, temp will cook it and stop it's growth.
Might not kill it, but it'll take some time to adapt.

I'll be adding more in a week or two to the 120 and then I'll do the 70 Gallon with nothing but.
I'm doing the 70 gal without any heating, so that might help, but it's not for this plant, it's for some native species I want to keep.

I was thinking it might be a co2 issue. I'm going to try a different co2 injection method, i don't think my reactor is working that great. Tom, I need to try this plant again, I have very little hope that my emmersed culture will survive so once you have enough, please let me know. In the mean time, I'll be going back to HC I guess.
