Dust algae and light.

Hi folks,
I am stuck considering how much right I should be running on my 55. I have two 65watt banks of 6500k over my tank so I can either run 130 watts or 260. I have a little problem with dust algae that I can not get rid of which is making me think about things. I have a few high light plants that I need to consider. Just planted some HC. So should I stay with the full 260 or drop down to 130. What would you do ?

130 w PC lighting on a 55 is fine, you should be able to grow any plant with that amount.

Thanks Tom, I will cut it down. Is there any benefit from running the second 130 watts for a few hours a day. I have seen some suggest that and was wondering if that did anything good.

Sure, you can do that also, 3-4 hours ought to do it.
