Hi All,

Floating plants duckweed & water-lettuce supposedly fall into the "easy-to-grow" category.

I have a small pond-full of these in my outdoor lotus pond, and they thrive over there.
However, when I trasfer some of these into my aquarium, they undergo a lot of metamorphosis:

1. Long healthy roots are shed in a couple of days time
2. Old leaves become unhealthy and die or rot.
3. Lot of new leaves are spawned which remain very tiny as compared to the earlier leaf-size.
4. Overall the plant becomes very delicate and is somehow not able to adjust to my aquarium.
I have to move these back to the outdoor pond.

Please help! I love these floating beauties!

Additional Info: All submerged plants are doing very well and showing steady growth.
There is adequate light of 44W for 12 hours. This is a 40Gallon aquarium.

Thanks & Regards,
Jatin

i have it in all 3 of my aquariums. my 125g has t8 lights which would be considered lower lighting. It doesnt spread too fast in that tank. My 75g has a tek t5 fixture, 4x54w with co2 and it grows like crazy. Same as my 40 breeder. That plant is a nitrate HOG!!!
