I have been reading throug this post for some days now and learned a lot more about regulators and I want to thank everyone who contributed to it.

On eBay I found three regulators that caught my eye and I wanted to ask the more experienced regulator builders to take a look at them and tell me which one is the best.

I think the Tescom 64-3400 would be the best because of the stainless steel diaphragm and the low 30 psi outlet pressure.

Stay away from the tescom. You don't want one with vcr ports.

See I was correct in asking you guys first. :D
Thanks Oldpunk!

How about that Victor regulator of $100? That one should be okay, right?
Or the $25 one?

The one for 100 looks like it's in a lot better shape. It's also much newer. The cheaper one is pretty beat up.

Kinda sucks that this thread has capped out. There's just so much really useful information.

I built a new one this morning and since this thread needs a bump:

Have you noticed if the gauges are sensitive to temperature changes? I think glycerin changes volume as it heats and cools.

I'm not sure if it's the gauges or the co2 cylinder but I do see the the pressure fluctuates a bit as temperature changes. This happens on non clycerin gauges as well.

I keep the system in my garage. During midday when the temperature becomes unbearable (around 95F +), my high pressure gauge can spike up to 1000 PSI. As for the clycerine gauge alone, it can shift ~2% additional reading during a hot day. The cause is probably the change in the elasticity or spring rate of the Bourdon tube. Temperature, vibration and pulsation are three process conditions that can affect a pressure gauge. However these are not a main concern for our CO2 injection use.

This is my "garage" farming tank.

Just got this Tonnia from a member on this forum.

Yes my glossos are growing upward as most of the ground are taken by the hairgrass

Anyone see those new Victors floating around? It's a revamp of their lower entry lines, I think they're plastic in the middle. Any advantages from plastic aside from lower cost? I' seen some other plastic regulators but they were all foreign European rigs.

Hi all

This is probably a silly question, but I've attached my needle valve to my solenoid valve, however, the plug of the solenoid valve gets in the way of the fine tuning needle. It would be perfect, if I could screw on the needle valve with 1 "turn" less. Can I solve this by using a robber O washer?

I am new to Barrreport and I became interested in building interested in a DIY dual regulator after reading the related threads in the CO2 Enrichment forum. I am currently sourcing all the parts and was consider an in-line filter, such as the Swagelok Tee-Type (SS-4TF), after the regulator and before the solenoid to help prevent potential leakage due to small particles preventing the full closing of the valve when shut-off. Has anyone utilized a filter and if so what size filter element is recommended?

I'm researching regulators as an upgrade to my current fluval co2 system that is a pain to keep dialed in. I'm not sure how to evaluate the various regulators and systems I come across on eBay... for instance these vary in price significantly but I'm not sure how they are different. Is it simply a matter of trusting certain brand names based in others experience, or are there obvious ways to evaluate systems like these?

I have a question about the CG320 configure regulator if it can be use on a DIN (UK) valve by using a converter or some sort of a nut?
Is the thread opposite between the 2 cylinder valve? I always see the CG320 regulator are always on the left side while the DIN valve installed regulator are always on the right in term of operator viewing. Is that the main different?

CGA320 is the specification for the connection between a regulator and a pressurized gas tank. This specific one is used only on CO2 tanks. You can change almost any pressurized gas regulator to a CGA320 inlet by unscrewing the inlet nipple and installing the CGA320 nipple, obtainable from welding shops, online stores, etc. The side of the regulator where it goes is determined by the manufacturer of the regulator.
