sick to the back teeth with pressurised co2 , so i have decided that my next venture will be either a full on low tech setup , or an "in between the 2 " ie, excel based setup . the tank im looking at buying is a juwel rio 180 , which works out at 1.9wpg t5 . or the other possible alternative is a fluval roma 200 which workss out at 1.1wpg t8 . which of the 2 light levels would be best suited to a hassle free setup . would be looking to grow things like anubias , amazon swords , aponogeton crispus , crypts , moss etc along with any other low tech suited plants that i can find .

edit: can easily change the light unit in the roma to give 1.5 wpg t5 , ive got the ballast , it would just be a case of getting tubes .

the main reason for wanting to change methods is that i am having all sorts of algae problems due to not being able to get my co2 right ( and believe me ive tried and tried) . i want a tank that will be easier to maintain and keep algae free so i can just enjoy the tank rather than constantly fighting with it . currently im running 1.4wpg but with co2 . am i right in thinking that low tech will be easir/more forgiving in terms of algae or am i just clutching at straws .
