Hello,

I've recently upgraded my fish tank and was wondering if I need to install a pneumatic air preparation filter. I'm open to suggestions or any advice on best practice.

Thanks

If you mean a filter for the intake of your air pump, its not necessary in most households. The better airpumps have a sort of a fiber filter to slow down dust, some have that filter impregnated with activated carbon but it's rarely a necesity.

A filter can help if you're using an air pump or CO2 system to protect equipment and fish. For smaller tanks, it might not be needed. Consider your setup and fish needs. If unsure, adding one is a safe bet. Good luck!
