There are many ways to make a canopy, or light fixture for an aquarium. Which is best for you depends on how skilled you are with tools, what kind of lights you want to use, how you want the fixture to be held above the tank, how much money you want to spend, etc.

You can search both here and on other forums and find a variety of writeups about how people, including me, made them. Or, you can provide more detail now about the lights you want to use, the size you want it to be, how you want to hold it above the tank, etc. and maybe we can offer more customized help.
