Hey all,

I have a couple probs with algae in my tank. I am not dosing EI first off.... I do have the desire to try this, but am not currently.... The money that would go towards my EI stuff is currently being spent on bigger things. (vacation in may) The algae is more of a nuisance currently, I have BBA growing pretty good on my driftwood chunk, & it is also growing on the roots of my narrow leaf java fern, & on some of the plants themselves... I will see it every now & again elsewhere in the tank, but not as thick as on the DW. I also have started farming some green fleck algae on my tank walls.

I had hoped that once I goy mh kh & gh in line, as well as started dosing Co2, that the algae problem would disappear, but instead, I started getting the green fleck stuff. :)

I will have to post my tank stats later on, I just changed the DIY Co2 from the Hagen ladder, to a rena micro bubble stone. I hope that this will increase the dissolution of the Co2, but I just snapped it on last night.

if you all have any suggestions or comments, please post em... EI is currently out of the question unfortunately. I dont figure there is anything else that will be suggested, but wanted to give it a go.

What's your CO2 reading and how heavily planted is this tank? Looks like
you could use KNO3, KH2PO4. Your algae is taking care of whatever NH4
you have :D
