CO2 Reactor Plumbing With Sump

I'm in the process of finally getting my sump set up and have a questions about plumbing in my Aquamedic 1000 CO2 reactor. I would like to tee off of the main return and have the water from the tee go into the reactor and then back into the sump area that the return pump is mounted in. Would this work okay or should I have the water exit the reactor and go directly into the display tank?

I would think that returning back to the sump would be fine, but would appreciate input from other folks that run a sump.

Thanks!

AM1000's are woefully small in/out lets, 3/8" is all, you cannot get much flow through there, might be okay for maybe a 50-80 Gallon tank is all.

It's a 34 gallon tank and about 5 gallons in the sump. The AM reactor has worked great with my Eheim canister.
