    hi everyone,
i ias wondering if painted a SMD does that change its Kelvin?
the situation is i have led bar that i dont want it all white. i want to change some of leds into blue in the same bar.
option 1: Painting some of the leds.
option 2: Replacing some of the white leds with blue leds in the same bar
any of those two options are applicable? if yes. then how to do it the best way.
    if no. any other ideas?

Depending on the led and your skill you could, theoretically, change out the LED's. Besides removal w/ like a hot air reflow station you need to match the "footprint" and electrical characteristics of
    the ind. diodes..

As to coloring the diodes, since they are white you could change them to blue (lots of blue in a white LED).
Remember you can't increase photons, only subtract them. In other words you lose all but the blue ones.
Have no idea of diode safe blue markers or the like.
You could put strips of cine gels over a row or so.
Again, remember you will lose PAR..
Roscolux carries what you could use.
Don't know of anyone who's done this either..

As to Kelvin.. not important really.

Oh yea, last thing would be just adding led tape strips to the light in the color of choice..
