Hi Tom,

do plants have uptake pathways for taking in carbon sources other than HCO3-, CO2 and well, Glutaraldehyde of course? I was thinking about CO3-- and H2CO3.

No.

Not that are brought into the calvin cycle.
Excel etc decomposes to CO2 anyway.
HCO3, is convertyed via CA enzyme to CO2 + -OH
H2CO3 is very tiny fractions and too big to use, most is CO2 [aq].
