I was popped past a fertalizer store today and grabbed a couple of things that caught my eye and were only about $5 each. I was wondering if I could use either of them mixed in a solution using distilled water.

One was a 500g packet of soluble trace elements mix with the following analysis:

Analysis %W/W
Sulphur (S) as sulphates 6.29
Calcium (Ca) as carbonate 10.00
Magnesium (Mg) as sulphate 3.62
Manganese (Mn) as sulphate 2.88
Iron (Fe) as chelate 2.73
Copper (Cu) as sulphate 1.25
Zinc (Zn) as sulphate 1.00
Boron (B) as Borate 0.09
Molybdenum (Mo) as Molybdate 0.0038

The other was a 250g packet of Soluble Iron Chelate (EDTA 13%)

Currently I have a 300 litre aquarium and daily I add 2ml Flourish, 10ml Flourish Excel, 5ml Flourish Iron with bigger doses when I do the weekly water change.

I had been adding 1ml per day Iron and 5ml per day Excel but the plants have responded really well to the extra iron. I am using the Extra excel temporariliy to see what happens. I am also hoping to schedule some time to do an extra water change each week.

It's a low light tank, 2 x 4ft T8s (One Power-Glo and One Life-Glo).
