Hello everybody
I hope you can help me with my doubts
I want to know if I can use for my 100 tank this tubes only :
- 2 Azoo PL 36watts PG+10000k
- 1 Azoo PL 36watts Blue +10000k

I know almost everybody prefer a 6500k tube , but here in my country i couldnt find it (PL or T5 with 6500k). So this is my doubt , Can my plants take advantage of those kelvin???
I need it for my glosso, rotala green sp. , alternatheras reineckii lilacina , rotala rotundifolia...you know i want them showing a nice red color.
Otherwise I have CO2, and use fert (N,P,K)
Regards:cool:

Hi,

Your plants will do well with 10K lamps, although it will optically wash out the red colours somewhat. Use what you like best. You're the one watching the tank. You also might want to combine a 10K lamp with a 3K lamp, which will give you the same effect as two 6.5K lamps.

I'm using 2 10,000 K T5HOs on my tank and the Rotala Macandra is growing nice and red. I am also using a pink bulb to make the reds stand out visually but, they don't do much for growth. 6500 Ks work well but they either look to yellow or to green to my eyes.

I don't think that specific lamp is very good for freshwater use, I found this:

".... is a mixure of 50% 10000K natural daylight and 50% True Actinic 03 Blue phosphors. ..."

That makes it more suitable for seawater use.
