I have read that the Amano will eat and kill the little ones.

    About all for this one.

Maybe the smallest shrimplets will end up as food, as does artemia. But anything larger no problem! They still reproduce like crazy in my tanks.

If only.........I wish the Amano would, but I have gobs of both, they do not even put a dent in the RCS population.

Mirroring what others have said, I keep Amanos and RCS in the same tank.

I have kept them both for years and RCS keep breeding all the time. I have NEVER seen Amanos bothering the little ones :) go for it!

    Gh is about 2-3 degrees.

Some have come to folks on plants, mostly the Starougyne repens, the shrimp stay hung onto the plants and I add them to the bags and they arrive live for many.

I've never been able to kill them all off unless I drain the filters and the tank 100%, or bleached the tank. I've tried ferts, Algaefix, nothing works that does not also kill the plants.
