Most hydrated salt issues are well, related to the hydrated part.

    CaCl2(H2O)x, where x = 0, 1, 2, 4, and 6

    This can cause issues.

Often in chemistry, these salts are heated to drive off the hydrated fraction.
Then used immediately or placed in water absorbing media

Still, even if you are a fair amount off with GH dosing, it's a pretty large target.
But the calculator can be adjusted better to give better accuracy.
So should we assume hydrate forms and how does the user........know which one it is?
    Some are labeled as such.

    Most CaCl2 is dihydrate.......

Most Epsom salt is MgSO4 (H2O)7

Heat it to 200C and it'll form anhydrous MgSO4, a fine white powder.
Like Gypsum which is yet another.

Stuff you know if you know chem and do not use calculators...............
