What form of calcium chloride does the calculator use? The one I can easily acquire from a lab supply company states it is only 77.5% pure. The only 99% pure CaCl2 I can acquire is CaCL2.6H2O.
I'm getting wildly different results from different calculators and I assume it's because of product variances but I would like to use RB calculators for everything.

Edit: apologies....I have just opted for using the dihydrate option which I believe to the 77.5% product. Thanks anyway

Though the hydration state is not typically considered an impurity, you are right the one with 77.5% CaCl2 is likely CaCl2*2H2O.

For future reference, in the https://rotalabutterfly.com/nutrient-calculator.php the entry 'Calcium Chloride' is for CaCl2 only, without any water.
No......but I'm more concerned with correct Ca concentrations when dosing. So far.....I've not been able to find Cacl2 which is pure.......it was just throwing me off......

Thanks for your reply mate......I'm just sticking with the dihydrate for safety lol

In the IFC calculator we have 4 different hydrates (including the anhydrous form) which you can select from and calculations will be done according to the hydrate selected. Reality is that any will work but the most common ones available are the dihydrate and the hexahydrate. CaCl2 anhydrous is highly hygroscopic and will attract water, hence not stable. Buying a hydrate will be a better bet.
