Anyone here successfully keep plants in a brackish tank? I've set up a 15g figure 8 puffer tank. SG is 1.005 and I'm trying out some java fern, java moss and jungle val.

Re: Brackish anyone ?

Java fern, java moss, almost all of the varieties of vals will do well, as will a lot of the generic crypts ...

A lot of plants are very adaptable ... and it is very common for plants to shed their old growth and grow new leaves that are adapted for their new environment ... and most of us in the hobby kill them off in this adapation process thus we *think* that certain plants can't handle brackish water, but I suspect that far more of them can than we traditional believe ...

Well the jungle val is going strong. Some leaves were shed but new ones came in to take their place, plus there's also a few runners. This is all happening at a snails pace though.
