Black Brush? or just a dark Hair algae?

    Im not sure what this is, although Im sure why I have it (forgot to soak my aquatic compost substrate).

    Can someone confirm what this is? I have ALOT of it, everywhere. It sorta looks like BBA to me, although Im not sure.. its as resilliant as BBA thats for sure.

    Full EI/CO2 and turned down light for now, Ive increased filtration ALOT and will do 2x weekly water changes.. any other ideas? Im assuming a blackout wont work on this if its BBA.

    edit: I will obviously remove all visible signs on the next w/c. I purely wanted to see what it would grow like if I left it.

    I don't know what it is officially, but I had it when my tank had a bad case of BBA and BGA. It behaved the same as BBA. Excel and manual removal got rid of it.

    Try spot dosing with Excel.

    EasyCarbo is cheaper and is the same product. AE sell it at £5.99 for 250ml.
