Bent pressure gauge face plate

I've just bought an Azoo regulator from eBay and its lower pressure gauge face plate
was bent. The arm couldn't move pass 35 PSI mark. So I opened the cover and pushed
the bending part back. It seems to work OK.

This issue is similar to VICTOR and DUAL STAGE REGULATOR PIMP CLUB - Page 8

I wonder if this issue can be from bad handling in shipping? The seller said he's
inspected it before shipping. But I think it was already bent before shipping, since
the housing looks OK and if there was a major hit, the clear plastic cover would not
survive.

If that is the case I would leave neutralfeedback to the seller.

What do you think? Thanks.

psst... they're supposed to be like that ;)

I have an azoo regulator too. The bent face plate makes it easier to read when you mount the regulator horizontally for 3-way CO2 manifolds.

Not sure if it's true about the ‘functionality’ of the bent face plate (are you kidding?).
But since you get it bent too (and another person who also bought from the same seller).
So I would take it that it's OK to tolerate. Thanks. :)

Bent is Bent

Hi Nipat,

Bent is bent. CO2 Pressure Regulator w/Solenoid

If you got a good price and the faceplate doesn’t interfere with the needle, then “mount the regulator horizontally for 3-way CO2 manifolds,” as per Philosophos. Give the seller a neutral rating, the bent face should have been disclosed.

The “repair” is simple, but it should have been disclosed and I simply do not see how ‘shipping’ could be responsible.:(

If you paid something over half price, me I would send it back. Then being an Evil Plant Monster does tend to make one, a bit of a jerk.

I'm not joking. 3-way valve aside, try mounting one horizontally, then kneel down and look at the regulator. Is it easier for you to get on eye level, or for you to look down from above on something angled 45 degrees upward towards your face?

Thinking of it, back when I played paintball, small regs on markers were angled for similar purposes.

Biollante,

I got it $74.94 shipped, about half the price of that is being sold in Thailand, it's $146 here.
After bending back the bent part of the face plate, the needle can move all the way (could not before).

Philosophos,

But in my case, it's only the low pressure gauge that was bent (looked more like a wrinkle
than a bend though), the high pressure was not. And the needle couldn't move pass 35 PSI
mark unless I pushed the bent part back. I hope I didn't damage the gauge mechanics
behind it (I had to push quite deep). And there are other Azoo regulators with normal, not bent,
face plates.

Well, I will leave neutral feedback. Because the seller should have noticed it first.
And I wouldn't have bought it if I had known this in advance. Thanks everyone.

Looking back at my reg, it's the in-pressure that's bent. The out-pressure standardizes to 35-40lbs, bobbing back and forth as it adjusts.

The out-pressure faceplate probably shouldn't be jamming the needle. I don't think it could happen in shipping without damaging the face plate or worse.
