Hey all,
I have a love/hate relationship with these units...
I just re-installed my 'fixed' from ATI unit and two things of course:
1. Zones 1 and 2 are reversed.
2. The 2 light zone bulbs of course now do not come on. They did when I first tested it last week.
3. I see looking at the two fixtures, that the working fixture has some good clearance between the lights/reflectors and the shield. There is NONE in the 'fixed' fixture, so is possible that the something came loose or something is pinched now, who knows?
So, I am going to see if they will simply send me a new one. If not, I will ask for a refund on the one unit and investigate some other manufacturer or arrangement.
The one fixture is fine and I love it. The other is a POS as far a I am concerned. For the amount of $ the quality assurance should be much better. Especially going out for repair.
I see the reasons they post Youtube repair videos for fans, ballasts, and the like is because they must fail often or there would be no need.
Very disappointed that I am having so much trouble over the last few years with very expensive fixtures. The aquaticlife was also very poor quality and needed repair and replacement, and now the same for ATI.
I expect some issues but this is just stupid. If I ever gave a customer software I wrote that only worked 'sometimes' I would expect to be out of a job. It is not like T5 and dimming technology came out yesterday either.
At least the 6 tube zone seems to work and I need that more than the 2 tube zone, but still, come on...
Thank goodness I know the tank will do well with one fixture. I will see if the other starts to miraculously 'work' but will most likely simply shift back to the one unit arrangement. Sigh....
Rant over. Thanks for listening.
