Aquamedic Oceanlight & ADA Lamp

Maybe you guys can help me with these questions:

For Aqua Medic Oceanlight 250w HQI pendant:
1. is the ADA lamp NAG-250W compatible with it?
2. can I put a lower wattage lamp in it, like a 150w lamp, is it going to work?

1. I have 2 confirmations saying: NAG-250W lamp is compatible with Oceanlight 250w HQI
2. It's not possible, one good reason: the 150w lamp is smaller
