Anyone have any experience with these new lights?

I have 2 on the way and will post an update if they work out on my heavily planted 60 gallon tank.

I contacted their customer support who were great. The agent I spoke with said he personally had a high tech planted tank where he was using this new light with success. He said that he turns the blue led's way down and ramps up the red and uv led's. The HD model has the ability to take the power from led's you do not want to use such as your blue led's and add that power to something like your red led's. So your blue led's would be at say 5% and your red could be at 195%.

All the info I have researched online points to this being a decent option for planted tanks but have yet to find anyone who has or has not had success with them. Keep in mind I am inquiring about the new "Prime HD" model not the original "Prime" lights. Thanks!

It is a new light called the Aquaillumination Prime HD (upgrade from the old model). The previous model was the Aquaillumination Prime without the HD in the name.

Looks like they have a partial work-around for the limited reds. Regardless, I'm sure plants will grow just fine. But more reds would be nice.

Ok so update on these lights...Returned both the next day. The light intensity is no where enough for my size tank (it didnt even come close to my 2 Finnex planted plus lights). Lots of shadows and dead spots. Would recommend this light for a smaller cube style tank but not a 48 inch long tank like mine. I ordered two Kessil A160's to see if they are any better.

I purchased 1 of these yesterday for my 24 X 18 X 18. I gather I should return the light and get a Finnex planted plus?

    I am super happy w/ the two Kessil A160's I purchased. For a 24 x 18 x 18, 1 Kessil light should be more than enough coverage.

One light does cover a ada 60h 24x18x18 but has I slight arch effect with the older gooseneck mounts but I believe the new mount allows you to raise the light more or using the older gooseneck with the adapter, I never tried the adapter myself to confirm it.

two dimmed on a 24x18x18 solved the problem.

Great lights but I prefer the red from t5

Some old pictures to give you a idea

One kessil 160 (notice the arched light)

I am wishing I'd done T5. I returned the prime HD and got a single Radion XR15 FW. I am already regretting it and haven't even got the plants in yet.

Your tank is beautiful, btw. Looks lovely with those T5s.
