    Re: Any advice for HC

I dunno what to tell you other than to continue waiting. I've never had mine take that long to grow. If it isn't dying I'd say just wait it out another month. I've never planted it in flourite, only AS. Maybe it takes longer to send runners through the larger and heavier flourite?

It grows very easily with ADA aqua soil and good CO2, it's not light demanding either like some folks like to say.

It does grow like a nice weed if you use the substrate, flourite is just a poor grain size for it.
    Onyx was better.

1 9 liter bag of ADA AS would do and will run 26.99 from ADG and then shipping.

You'll have no issues then other than CO2 perhaps.

I ordered some Aqua Soil- Amazonia (3 liters)- Normal Type and im just gonna put it along the front of the tank and give it a try if it works out ill use it all over in my next tank. co2 i have pressurized and a red sea 500 reactor . should be ok but not sure about the reactor since i just started using it.

do you have any comments on the reactor. thanks for the advice if any and i like the new site. same forum but looks more modern.

Note, you can change the look depending on your own preferences, I have solver and carbon back type right now on.

There's a box on thbe lower bottom of the screen if you scroll all the way down, click on any one of those color combos for preferences.

    Cool huh?

For all the squawking about individual preferences and tank differences, why not web differences/preferences as well?

I think once you try the ADA AS, you'll want more and do the entire tank.
See my 2$ DIY reactor in the article's section, works better, cheaper.

    Yep, updates are important.
See how the Hc grows once you add that, you'll be amazed.
Give it 3 weeks and good CO2.

    then report back.

If you add enough CO2, things should grow in rapidly, 2-3 weeks max.

The ADA AS is clay based, so you can pack it down.

I tend to plant at least 3/4-7/8th of the stem below ground.
I make 1" long individual strands and plant these mostly below ground.
None of that clump plant method.

Deeper ADA As will help also.
